Student assistants for Land-CRAFT

Would you like to help us at the Center for Landscape Research in Sustainable Agricultural Futures (Land-CRAFT)?
 Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University, Denmark, is looking for 1-2 student assistants for the Center for Landscape Research in Sustainable Agricultural Futures (Land-
CRAFT). The position is available from 1 August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter and will be for a period of 3 years, provided that you are still enroled as a student.

The Center for Landscape Research in Sustainable Agricultural Futures (Land-CRAFT)
at Aarhus University addresses three of our major societal challenges - food security,
climate change, and loss of biodiversity. With Center partners from University of Copenhagen, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), and Colorado State University (USA), we bring together expertise in climate impact research, landscape analyses, biogeochemistry, agronomy, biology, and geography to develop solution-oriented research that extends across multiple spatial and temporal scales. Established in June 2022, Land-CRAFT has built a motivated team to undertake both fundamental and applied research aimed to reduce the environmental impact of agricultural systems, specifically regarding greenhouse gas emissions. To reach our goals, we are using a combination of empirical, field-based approaches, digital technologies, including modelling and remote sensing, while closely interacting with stakeholders.

We need 1-2 student assistants to help us with various tasks supporting our research.
 

Job description

Your main tasks are:
  • assisting with communication tasks (updating website content, social media, etc.)
  • assisting with our events like workshops, meetings, etc. (both preparation and service on the day)
  • assisting with onboarding and offboarding our (international) guests/employees
  • organization of online seminar series (contacting speakers, sending invitations, etc.)
  • help with creating visual material (e.g. making graphics) for posters, reports, proposals
  • updating various inventories, Center statistics (staff, publications, etc.), and documentation of our processes
  • assisting with purchasing
  • various ad hoc tasks from the Center Management
  • assisting in the laboratory/field experiments, when needed



Your profile


We expect that:
  • you are enroled as a student in Agrobiology, Biology, Ecoscience, Environmental Sciences or similar
  • you are service minded
  • you are experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and familiar with generative AI tools
  • you have worked with TYPO3, or you have experience developing website content
  • you have good English and Danish skills
  • you are interested in communicating with a variety of people including students, farmers and other stakeholders
  • you are motivated by supporting projects, where overall aim is to support the green transition of agriculture

As a student assistant, you will get the opportunity to be a part of an international environment which is relevant to your study, and you can build up your educational network.


Expected start date and duration of employment


This is a fixed part-time student assistant position for enroled BSc and MSc students.

Weekly working hours can vary but is expected to be around 10 hours.

The position is available from 1  August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Deadline for application is 8 May 2026. 

The employment will be at Department of Agroecology. The main place of work is Ole Worms Allé 3, 8000 Aarhus C.

Formalities and salary range

Salary and terms as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees in Denmark/State (HK/Stat) for clerical staff, laboratory technicians and IT employees and the joint collective agreement concluded between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Organisations of Public Employees - Denmark - Danish State Sector (the OAO-S joint collective agreement).   

It is required that you are enrolled as a student.
