The Centre for Industrial Electronics (CIE) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a Student Research Assistant position (10 hours per week) from 1 October till 30 September 2027. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated student to gain research experience in capacitor technologies.
Research Area
The successful candidate will contribute to activities related to the fabrication and characterization of capacitors, including:
Electrolytic capacitors
Metallized film capacitors
The work will involve laboratory-based experiments, materials characterization, performance testing, and data analysis aimed at supporting the development of next-generation capacitor technologies.
Key Responsibilities
As a student research assistant, you will:
Assist in the fabrication and assembly of capacitor prototypes.
Perform electrical and materials characterization experiments.
Collect, analyze, and document experimental data.
Support laboratory maintenance and equipment operation.
Collaborate with researchers, PhD students, and other team members on ongoing research projects.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
An educational background in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
Theoretical knowledge of advanced electronics.
Hands-on laboratory experience related to capacitor fabrication and characterization.
Familiarity with advanced characterization techniques, such as:
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).
The ability to work independently and systematically in a research laboratory.

Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and SUL (National Union for Student Teachers in Government Service).
