You will join Group Finance (GF) based in our Copenhagen HQ. GF is responsible for the overall financial management of all tasks within DanChurchAid (DCA). The finance group consist of 21 dedicated colleagues and is dived into sub 3 teams, each with a dedicated financial area.

 

As a Team Leader for the Projects team in GF, you will be in charge of the overall coordination and management of our international donor projects abroad. You and your team are responsible for quality assurance throughout the financial project cycle, financial reporting/audits, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations of major institutional donors (EU, US, Danida, etc.) and capacity building of finance staff at country offices/HQ level. The Team Leader position is a dual role both overseeing the team leader responsibilities while also being a part of the daily tasks within the team.

 

Key responsibilities of the Team Leader - Projects:

  • Lead and support the development of the team and its areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure flexible and coordinated cooperation within Group Finance.

  • Direct staff responsibility for the team.

  • Develop and streamlining existing financial systems and procedures.

  • General support to our International Department.

  • Close cooperation with our Global Partnership & Resource Mobilization team on the international donor work.

  • Take part in the daily operations and tasks. 

 

Qualifications and experience

Your financial and technical toolkit must be in place, and you should be experienced in both accounting and budgeting, and in the use and optimization of financial systems, reports, and economic analyses. Experience within the development/humanitarian sector and knowledge from like-minded organisations and functions is an advantage.

 

Furthermore, you should have the following qualifications:

  • A strong problem-solving mindset.

  • A relevant academic degree/education, e.g., within finance, auditing, accounting or similar.

  • Great drive and motivation for development and optimization.

  • Good communication skills in English writing and speech. You must be able to read and understand complicated legal texts in English.

  • Highly developed cooperative skills, both across the desk and country borders.

  • Possibility to travel approx. 2-4 weeks annually.

  • Advanced skill level within both ERP systems and Excel.

 

What we offer

A job with us is meaningful work among good and committed colleagues. The place of work will be at DanChurchAids headquarters in Meldahlsgade 3, 1613 Copenhagen K. Salary will be based on relevant DCA collective agreement, including a good pension scheme.  The work time is 37 hours per week including lunch break and the possibility of working from home. Expected start date as soon as possible.
