Student Assistant for the Research Unit

Danmarks Nationalbank

København, Storkøbenhavn

Indrykket
30-08-2024

Become part of our Research Unit and learn the methods of the future by doing. With creative thinking and openness to learn new skills, you can become worth your weight in gold to Denmark, to Danmarks Nationalbank and to your colleagues. Deadline for applications September 10th 2024.

You perform tasks with an exceptional purpose

Danmarks Nationalbank is the only one of its kind. We are the Danish societys bank, the Danish states independent advisor and Denmarks watchful eye on the economy. None of this happens by itself, and, as an employee at Danmarks Nationalbank, you play a key role, together with your colleagues, in ensuring that Denmark has a robust economy.

As a Student Assistant, you are part of the Monetary Policy Research Unit. The Research Unit is closely involved in the economic policy debate inside the Danish Central Bank as part of the Monetary Policy Department.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • You will work on research projects with economists in the Research Unit

  • Preparing large datasets

  • Working with applied econometric methods and solving quantitative models

  • You will occasionally contribute to administrative tasks, such as maintaining and updating websites as well as organizing seminars and conferences.

You have the essential prerequisites to succeed

At Danmarks Nationalbank, we are accommodating. We focus on recognition, good leadership and the ability to make your and our different competences interact. We take time for each other - when we share our knowledge, when a helping hand is needed and when we gather around common interests.

We want you to both succeed and thrive in your role as Student Assistant. Therefore, we attach importance to you having the following qualifications for applying for the position:

  • You have a strong academic background in economics or finance. Ideally, you should be in the last year of a Bachelor's degree, but there is room for some flexibility in both directions.

  • You have basic knowledge of statistical or numerical programming languages (especially STATA, but also MATLAB, Python or R).

  • You will need to be proficient in both English and Danish.

  • Familiarity with microeconometric methods, as demonstrated by high grades in relevant courses, is a great advantage, as is prior experience in working with Statistics Denmark datasets.
