Norwegian is the worlds sixth largest low-cost airline and carries more than 30 million passengers per year. The airline operates more than 500 routes to 150 destinations in Europe, North Africa, Middle East, Asia, Caribbean and the U.S. Norwegian has a fleet of more than 150 aircraft, with an average age of 3.6 years, making it one of the worlds youngest and most modern fleets. Norwegian was named the Worlds Best Low-Cost Long-Haul Airline by the renowned SkyTrax World Airline Awards three years in a row, and for the fifth consecutive year, named Europes Best Low-Cost Airline. Norwegian currently employs 8,000 people.

Norwegian is the second largest carrier in Denmark, where the airline operates 60 routes to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, USA and Asia. Every year, Norwegian flies over five million passengers to and from Copenhagen Airport, and the airline is the second largest at CPH. Furthermore, Norwegian services the route between Copenhagen and Aalborg with up to 48 weekly departures making the airline the biggest operator on Denmarks most important domestic route.

 

Our new Head of Communications in Denmark will join a Communication team of 20 people based in different European countries, the US and Argentina. As a successful candidate, you will have proven senior manager experience in communications, public relations and/or public affairs.

 

You should be prepared to travel, both to Oslo on a regular basis and to Norwegians many destinations across the world.

 

Job description

 

  • Responsible for executing a communications plan for the Danish market

  • Responsible for media and public affairs relations

  • Act as Norwegians main spokesperson in Denmark/other markets when needed

  • Proactively pitch stories about Norwegian to the media in order to increase brand awareness and sales

  • Take duties in the Norwegian Groups crisis communication team

  • Be part of the Scandinavian press duty team

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • BA degree in Communications, PR or Political Science

  • At least 5 years communications and/or PA experience

  • Travel industry experience preferred

 

 

Personal qualities

 

  • Excellent oral and writing skills (Danish and English)

  • Documented results working as a senior communications professional

  • Great contact network with media and in government/politics

  • Experience working as a spokesperson
