Who are we?

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is the largest humanitarian NGO in Denmark. We are working in approximately 40 countries worldwide as well as in Denmark to fulfil our vision that no refugee should lack protection and durable solutions and that no one who wishes to integrate into Danish society should lack help to do so. We have around 7,000 international employees and 1,000 Danish employees, and we are still growing. Our headquarters are located in the center of Copenhagen near the metro and other forms of public transportation.

We are seeking highly qualified staff to the part of our Finance Department working with donor funded projects. Our Finance Department is one of the four support functions in headquarters and consists of around 45 talented and dedicated people who are responsible for DRCs financial affairs globally in close cooperation with the operation. You will be part of our project finance team of Business Controllers and Accountants and will get to perform tasks that relate to the accounting tasks connected to our donor projects and local offices abroad.

About the job

DRC has by January 1st implemented a new ERP system (DRC Dynamics). The purposes of the position is to support DRCs field operations with accounting related tasks. The position is a mix between supporting operations and perform accounting tasks on their behalf. As the implementation of DRC Dynamics moves on some tasks in the position will change and you will also have to participate in improving accounting processes.

As Accountant you will perform the following tasks:

  • Support and guidance to Operations with accounting tasks in DRC Dynamics
  • Booking and validation of journals including rebooking
  • Reconciliation of balance accounts
  • Creating projects and budgets in DRC Dynamics
  • Ad-hoc tasks related to the DRC Dynamics implementation
  • Follow up on scanning of vouchers in field operations
  • Provide support in regards to audits
  • Actively participate in improving accounting processes
  • Ad-hoc tasks

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a structured and pro-active approach to your work and take pride in delivering high quality. It is also important that you like to communicate with our field operations as many of your tasks will be preformed together with these offices. You should also be happy to work in a flexible environment where priorities can change from day to day depending on the needs in our operations. All employees should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity

Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Good English and/or French language skills - both written and spoken. Preferably also in Danish, or Spanish
  • Solid knowledge of ERP systems (Navision/Dynamics 365)
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles
  • Work experience with accounting tasks
  • Experienced user of Excel
  • Relevant education

 

We offer

We offer a great office location in central Copenhagen close to the metro and a 37 hours workweek (including lunch break) in Borgergade 10, Copenhagen. Furthermore, we offer active development of our employees through DRCs learning platform.

Start date: As soon as possible (Preferably no later than 1st August 2019).

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and the HK organisation. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
